Steve Higgins, CFRE
Steve Higgins As a Senior Vice President with Ketchum, Steve Higgins offers clients a wealth of experience in the areas of development, executive leadership, and strategic development planning. Steve has served a wide variety of clients, including independent schools, higher education, healthcare, youth and social services, cultural arts, and environmental organizations.  In addition to Steve's client responsibilities, he oversees Ketchum's client development efforts.

Prior to joining Ketchum, Steve was the Director of Community Relations at Saint Edward's School in Vero Beach, Florida. Steve also spent five years with the Pittsburgh Technology Council where, as the Senior Vice President of Membership Services & Development, he was responsible for growing the organization into the nation's largest regional technology association with over 1,800 corporate members. Steve has 20 years of combined experience in fundraising, non-profit management, and business development.

In addition to his fundraising and business development background, Steve began his career as a teacher, coach, dormitory supervisor, and Assistant Director of Admission at The Gow School in South Wales, New York. He also spent numerous summers working for a YMCA Camp and Boys & Girls Club.

A frequent speaker at various fundraising conferences, Steve is currently a member of the Industry Advisory Council for CASE (Council for Advancement and Support of Education).  Steve co-chairs the Stewardship Committee at the Community Church of Vero Beach, and he also serves as the Vice President of the Board for Indian River County's Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP).  Other boards Steve has served on include Leadership Pittsburgh Inc., Girl Scouts of Southwestern Pennsylvania, and the Mendelssohn Choir of Pittsburgh.  He has also volunteered his time with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh; Gifford Youth Activity Center in Vero Beach, Florida; and East End Cooperative Ministry in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
 

A graduate of Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, Steve lives in Vero Beach, Florida, and spends his summers in Ligonier, Pennsylvania, with his wife Char, daughter Lottie, and son Drew.
