Stephanie S. Micas, Ed.D., CFRE
Kevin LloydStephanie Micas joined Ketchum with more than 30 years experience in fundraising, education, and the arts. As Associate Vice President, Grants, she specializes in raising support for Ketchum clients from public and private foundations and government agencies. She began her career as a school teacher and administrator in public schools throughout Virginia before earning both her Masters and Doctorate in education from the University of Virginia. Dr. Micas taught at the University of Richmond for many years and was eventually appointed associate dean of the Jepson School of Leadership Studies.

Following her work in higher education, she was named President and CEO of the Arts Council of Richmond. Dr. Micas created a regional public funding consortium of six municipal governments and a united arts fund that conducts annual corporate and employee campaigns. In this role, she gained first-hand experience with the challenges and processes that not-for-profits manage in securing funding from both public and private sources. Dr. Micas successfully lobbied the Virginia General Assembly on behalf of a coalition of 19 arts and cultural organizations, helping to secure $14 million in state support. In addition, she designed and implemented a public funding process for arts and culture for Fairfax County, one of the largest suburban communities in the nation.

Inspired by excellence and the desire to improve communities, Dr. Micas has served as a volunteer on the boards of organizations such as the Virginia Performing Arts Foundation, the Greater Richmond Chamber of Commerce, and the Susan G. Komen local affiliate.

While at Ketchum, her clients have included R.L. Stevenson School in Pebble Beach, California; EdVenture Children's Museum in Columbia, South Carolina; Providence Life Services in Tinley Park, Illinois; Blowing Rock Community Arts Center in North Carolina; the World Soy Foundation in St. Louis, Missouri; Pratt Institute in New York City; the Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville, Kentucky; and the Hill House Association in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Previous to her work for Ketchum, she also served a wide variety of additional organizations, including Christopher Newport University, the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, and the Virginia Arts and Culture Economic Growth Coalition.

Dr. Micas is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE). She resides in Richmond, Virginia, where she lives with her husband. She has two grown daughters who live in Atlanta and Nashville.
