George A. Brakeley Jr.
The fundraising consulting world as we know it today had some founding fathers (and even a mother or two but I’ll save that for another blog). Carlton Ketchum was certainly one of them. George Brakeley Jr. was another. He passed away last Friday. I did not know him, I know his son George III who is still active in the firm, Brakeley Briscoe. But George Jr. was known throughout our industry for his support and commitment to organizations such as AFP and AAFRC (now the Giving Institute) and as an amazing strategist and salesman.
